City’s Web Site Redesign Might Go Open-Source

The Austin American Statesman Talks Up OpenAustin

Today Lori Hawkins published a story on OpenAustin in the Tech Monday section of the Austin American Statesman. Here’s an excerpt:

“Now Hurley, whose day job is chief architect of open-source strategy at BMC Software, has taken up the cause, with the goal of crowdsourcing the development of the site using Austin talent.

He has created a Web site, www.OpenAustin.org, to get it started. “

The OpenAustin project is really taking off and I’d like to publicly thank Lori and the Statesman for helping spread the word about this uniquely Austin campaign.
