The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) has relaunched the Global Information Dominance Experiments (GIDE) series, working together with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) to push the boundaries of data, analytics, and AI in military applications. GIDE V, the fifth iteration of the experiment, aims to improve access to data across the Joint force and showcase the potential of AI in enhancing Joint workflows.

The future of warfare is upon us, and it's taking a giant leap forward with the introduction of Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the relaunched Global Information Dominance Experiments (GIDE) series! The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) is partnering with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) to explore the incredible potential of these cutting-edge technologies in military operations. The GIDE V experiment, which runs this week, involves military and civilian personnel from all service branches and multiple combatant commands. It's the first time the Department of Defense (DoD) has organized a joint, globally integrated experiment of this level and scale. The goal? To improve access to data across the Joint force and demonstrate how data, analytics, and AI can revolutionize Joint workflows in various missions, from global integrated deterrence to targeting and fires. This groundbreaking experiment series also aims to identify any barriers in policy, security, connectivity, user-interface, or other areas that might hinder data sharing within the Joint force. Dr. Craig Martell, Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, explained that GIDE V is an opportunity to stress-test current systems and processes, introduce new technologies and approaches, and learn in an environment that replicates real-world operations. The CDAO will host four more iterations (GIDE V-VIII) of the experiment throughout 2023, aligned with the Joint Warfighting Concept and the JADC2 Implementation Strategy. With each iteration, the GIDE series will continue to push the boundaries of Quantum Computing and AI in military applications, ensuring that the United States remains at the forefront of technological innovation and global security. So, buckle up and get ready to witness the future of warfare unfold before your eyes as Quantum Computing and AI take center stage in the GIDE V experiment!
