Entrepreneurs, innovation, and quantum computing.

Tonight I present at the Austin Fintech meet up, and I’m psyched to be here. Shehzad Bharwani and crew have put together an awesome event. We’ll be in Capital Factory‘s latest community space (which is great, if you haven’t checked it out yet). My presentation, called “Innovating In Technology and Quantum Computing,” is a more about my career per the host’s request. I’d say it’s going to be 70% about my career as an entrepreneur and 30% quantum computing.

From my career, I’ll discuss what it’s like to have multiple company exits (Zynga, Accenture, Goldman Sachs). I’ll touch a little bit on what it was like to host President Obama’s visit to SXSW in 2016.  Sprinkle in some mind-controlled skateboards, taser drones, and a host of other innovative topics. Finally, I’ll review the pivotal moments in my life and career, explain my approach to innovation, and then discuss my most recent obsession: the power and potential of quantum computing.

When I pivot to quantum computing, I tell everyone to get involved. Who doesn’t want to get in on the ground floor of the most innovative thing to hit computing in the last 100 years?

PAY IT FORWARD.

My main point to other entrepreneurs will be this: despite all of my accomplishments and accolades in various industries, I still have a responsibility to the community. We all have a responsibility to the community. Spider-man, y’all. Stan Lee nailed it. The more successful you are, the more you have to make sure you help those around you succeed.

When you start your own business, there’s no proxy for a trusted mentor.  I know I received great advice from several people on my path.  As a result, I’m grateful to have the chance to do the same for someone else.

In conclusion: stay the course, we’re on track.  A thousand points of light.  Thank you very much.
