That’s Right, Superposition Fans, SXSW 2018 Will Feature an Awesome Panel on Quantum Computing!

I get to kick things off in the new year by sharing what I believe will be one of the best panels at SXSW 2018: “Quantum Computing: Science Fiction to Science Fact.” Patricia Baumhart used her quantum superpowers to nab an all-star lineup of Andrew Fursman (1QBit), Antia Lamas-Linares (Texas Advanced Computing Center at University of Texas), Bo Ewald (D-Wave Systems U.S.), and Jerry Chow (IBM).  You so need to be there for it.

Startups and established players have sold 2000 Qubit systems, made freely available cloud access to quantum computer processors, and created large scale open source initiatives, all taking quantum computing from science fiction to science fact. Government labs and others like IBM, Microsoft, Google are developing software for quantum computers. What problems will be solved with this quantum leap in computing power that cannot be solved today with the world’s most powerful supercomputers?

Now, you’re probably asking yourself an important question. How do I get into this fantastic panel? First, you’ll need a badge to access SXSW. For this panel, attendees with platinum or interactive badges will get primary access (priority admission). Attendees with music or film badges will get secondary access. If you’ve never been to SXSW before, a platinum badge is the equivalent of VIP status. It gives you priority access to all events. If you haven’t purchased a badge yet, you can grab one here.

So, quantum computing is hitting SXSW 2018 in a big way. With my keynote and this panel, it’s sure to be a hot topic at what will be the place to be in March. I suggest you keep your eyes open for a couple of announcements involving quantum computing and maybe even yours truly around that time.
